fondofsnape is BACK!

My old blog, fond of snape is back! Please come see me there :-)

The Weigh In

Just a reminder...What Is It Wednesday is up!

I joined the Weigh-In at work today. It goes for three months and everyone who participates pays $10. The person who loses the most weight wins the money. To keep myself accountable, I'm going to blog what I eat each day, and what exercise I do.

I did pretty good yesterday, until those potato chips that I kept walking by reached out and tossed themselves down my throat...along with some clam dip! But if that's the worst I had, I'm happy. Breakfast was grits with a tiny bit of maple syrup and a clementine. Lunch was chili, mostly beans but with some pork and some chili-mac...and a clementine :-) Dinner was some broccoli and 5 steak fries (I was full from the chips & dip earlier). I had a cup of coffee, 1 diet A&W rootbeer & water. I also took Wolf on a 1/2 hour walk in the snow (snow snow go away, come again another day...or not).

This morning, breakfast was oatmeal and a cup of coffee (forgot the clementines at home). Lunch will be chili again, with broccoli from last night. Dinner will be roasted chicken, brown rice & brussels sprouts. If I snack, it'll be cashews or low fat, low sugar peanut butter on flax/oat bran/whole wheat pita bread...and clementines!

Oh, and one more thing. I'm going to respond to your comments in the comments section from now on, since sometimes blogger doesn't give me your email address! Just wanted you all to know :-)

One Word: The Beginning

cloves oranges hands
This is what happens when you leave the holiday cloved oranges out too long...mysterious hands appear and come to take them away!

Happy New Year!!! Hope you all had an interesting New Year's Eve :-) I took Dad out for Chinese food and boy was that place PACKED!!! We got home, I hung out with him for awhile, made sure he had some snacks and a beer and then headed over to Megan & Jim's. Jim's brother and SIL joined us, and we played Apples to Apples (Megan won...twice!) and then Uno (I won!). We popped the bottle of champagne at midnight and toasted to health and happiness in 2008.

I've decided to participate in Project 365 (a group on flicker where I'll post one photo a day for an entire year) and this year, I'll complete the challenge! To make it a bit more fun for me, I thought I'd post the same photo here as well and have YOU (in the comments) tell me the first word (or thought) that comes to mind when you see the picture. You can also leave a normal comment, of course!

For example...let's pretend I've just read the entry and seen the photo. Here's the comment I'd leave:

One word: delicious. Hi Janet! Happy New Year, hope you didn't have to play that stupid "What Would Fred Do" game last night!

Easy, right! And if you don't want to play along, that's fine, no worries. I'm easy, too :-)

Six 8s

From Greeble Monkey

==================
8 Things I'm Passionate About

snape

1. My dogs. Even when Wolf picks a fight with Max on Christmas Day and he gets banished to the outside, I still love him, stupid feisty shiba!

2. My friends. I don't ask for much from them...just be there for me and they are.

3. Photography. I've loved taking pictures since I was a kid, and I love it still, after a bit of a longish break. I may not be that good, but damn it, I enjoy it!

4. Recycling. It's such a small thing to do...but so important! Things aren't like they used to be, people :-)

5. Food! I love to shop, cook, create, taste, touch, smell.

6. Dreaming. My dreams used to be incredibly interesting and detailed, but lately they've been full of death and scary things. I MADE myself wake up and get out of bed this morning cause the dream I was in the middle of was so ... NOT pleasant!

7. Scents; in particular, spicy scents. I love perfumes, lotions, and natural scents, too, such as the woods on a very hot day, lilacs, the ocean, freshly shampooed hair, baking bread, etc., etc..

8. I asked some friends what they thought I was passionate about and these are their answers "traveling", "photography", "Snape and Johnny Depp! Photography. Friends.", "loving life and enjoying it", "photography", "experiencing life", "the reading experience", "photography and the filthiest martini you can find", "Books! Dogs!!", "animals", "...photography...quickly followed by the puppies, traveling, johnny depp...", "photography, with Snape and Johnny running neck-in-neck for second. ;-)", "Japan", "WOLF".
