Round Robin Challenges - Ye Olde Watering Hole

The challenge this week is Ye Old Watering Hole:

My friend, Sarah, cooling off with a cold drink at the local Starbuck's. A collection of my photos hangs on the wall behind her; the manager let me hang them there for a month :-)

Need a hand?

Driving to work the other day, I noticed the reflection of my hand in the sideview mirror. Next red light, I grabbed the shot.

Waiting...

Saw this guy right down the street from my house; he was in the road when I first noticed him, and thought it was a turkey with a dead chick...but no. A vulture! Eating roadkill! Near my house in the suburbs! Who knew??!

Here's my view of Americana...a hot summer's day, kids parking their bikes to get a drink of water from a local watering hole!

Garden

Foto Pherrets - Hump Day Hunt, Week 29, the topic is "Garden":

This is my herb garden: chocolate mint to the left, sage and regular mint to the right, with a little strawberry bush way at the end!

ladybug on leaf

Wandering around Castle Island in Boston with Dad & Max one day, saw this ladybug sitting on a wild rose leaf and thought to myself, I HAVE to get a picture of this for my hairdresser, Q. She commented on it over in flickr yesterday, "I love this one can you print in a small print for me??? Thank u".

But of course, Q!!! I do need to make an appt to get my hair colored soon ;-)

Natalie's Note

I was supposed to visit my friends Betsy, Maureen & Kim this past weekend, but had to cancel because my Dad was sick. Got a note from Betsy's youngest daughter, Natalie, in the mail today...well, Betsy wrote it for her, as Nat's a bit too young to write, but Betsy did say Natalie dictated it!

Swan family

Driving to the hospital Friday to see my Dad, I noticed this family of swans out on a pond and stopped to take their picture.

I was running late Thursday night, had to pick up some jewelry I'd left at the place where I get massages the night before, and was meeting a friend at 7:30 (she's quite punctual; I'm quite not). While sitting at a red light (it was red when I raised the camera), I loved the view and thought I'd grab a picture...and I did, just as the light turned green LOL!

Furry Pherret Friends

This one is an easy one for me, as I have two gazillion pictures of my dogs, Max & Wolf!

Wolf, rollin' rollin' rollin'!

Max, who LOVES to jump!

Wolf, diggin' in the sand

Max, gazing off into the distance

Wolf, up close and personal!

Max, waiting for a piece of carrot

Mel and me

This was taken by Lisa, a friend of Mel's, a couple weekends ago when we all visited Elizabeth Park in Hartford, CT. Lisa & Mel are both avid photographers and I had a really good time walking around with them.
